Happy Trails Bloggins!
It's been a sad sad month for us. Our good buddy Bloggins has decided to pack up and RUNNOFT on us. He headed off to a whole new adventure in his life of being the jolliest happy go lucky toe-headed feller we call Stick. Yup, he decided to head north and help his pops out with the family biz of buzzin' out the caffine lovin', java drinkin' Warshington folk. So here's to you Bloggins! Happy Trails my friend.
Bloggins selling our old pal Homer Simpson his own skateboard.
He always had some crazy tricks up his sleeve while shredding. I think he learned this while skateboard riding, and decided to try it out on his Fineline at Pipes.
...and he totally landed it
Such a hard working son of a gun! He really took skateboarding to a whole new level. Look how serious he gets when he puts together them there skateboards.
And when he wanted to show off, he would show us all how it's done... and with oodles of style. Go Stickman Go!
We wished he didn't go and could stay with us forever, but none the less we are so stoked for him.
So-long to you Duder and your lovely lady Lizzard. May you two have safe travels, happy trails and all that other crap. We'll miss you! Come on back now ya hear! And we hope to come up and visit you guys soon!

What you up to, city?
Don't let those grey skies and orange cones get you down, it's still summertime and Mitch's Surf Shop is still open for biznazz! The City of Solana Beach has begun the "Highway 101 Westside Improvement Project" to spruce up the city's section of the Highway 101 corridor, which means lots of jack-hammering and dust now, but a sweet city sidewalk later. Eighteen months later, to be exact. So get your stereo stocked with happy tunes and plan for a few extra minutes of meandering in your vehicle of choice to and from Mitch's.
In other news, our very own Sir Billy Watson took over the city last Thursday night, playing some wild jazz at Fletcher Cove as the sun set. Hoards of North County-ans flocked to the FREE show, compliments of Belly Up and The City of Solana Beach's Concerts at the Cove. A great time was had by all, and Watson even pulled out the eyeball maracas. If you don't know what I'm talkin' about, go see a Billy Watson show.

Happy sliding, folks!

Seea
Check out what's growin' off the trees at Mitch's! Taylor here, and this one's for the ladies--thanks to Amanda Chinchelli, Italian surfer and designer that grew up on the island of Ilhebela in Brazil. Frustrated with women's surfwear options, Amanda started making her own suits and fellow waterwomen were impressed. With both style and practicality in mind, Amanda started Seea and now Mitch's is stoked to have our hands on some of these smokin' suits!
Remember "skorts"? This asymmetrical style is hiding cute little shorts underneath the skirt. Comfy and flattering. Win-win.
A favorite around these parts, this boyshort/suspender combo has a retro feel and the stripes compliment every beachy bum.
Prefer a 'kini? We've got em! Mind-blowingly comfortable and cute to boot.
That's the same swim tank! That's right, you're looking at a reversible swim tank, lengthy enough to shred the gnar without having to constantly tug and adjust. Less adjusting=more ripping.
But wait, there's more! Pick up a groovy rashguard or two and get your stripe on.
We're impressed and you should be too. Come by the shop to grab one for yourself, and as a bonus you'll be able to check out their too-cute Seea display, complete with footage of some dreamy log riding.

Solar Eclipse
This was either the Solar Eclipse, or the Cheshire Cat. Creepy, weird, and pretty, all rolled into one odd Sun-day picture!

Turn your sidewalk into a wave with one easy step!
The Joel Tudor and Gavin Beschen models are fully functional sticks for all encounters. Boogie some carves down your hill, snap an ollie up a curb or throw down some grindings in your local pit, ditch or u-ramp.
Some shiny new Arbor and Sector 9 street cutters showed up yesterday, the artwork and overall craftsmanship on these boards is purdy gersh dang nice lemme I tell ya. Arbor has teamed up with Sector 9 under the same roof which seems like a pretty good deal to me! Sector and Arbor are some of the last skate companies still pressing lumber and printing boards in the good ol" USA!!!! Nice work fellas! Keeping it legit, we like that! -Bloggins
Arbor pin tail speed gremlin, swallow tail sidewalk eater and symmetrical carve monster.
They just keep sneaking out of the shop! Guess it feels more like home out front:)
