So the boys are foldin' up them new shirts, and I'm feelin blahg. I said via in that last post. In previous posts I've said things like small kine and personal slide. In real life I don't really say such things. Is it the bro-down? The pressure of hipsterous blogdom that I have put myself into? Did I just see a film called The Present? Have I been in the industry long enough? Not long enough? Maybe it's my long distance myspace relationship that lets me type every day? Am I in love with computers? Are the Japanese taking over the surfing world? Do you read Thrasher Magazine? Is Griswald coming in tomorrow? Do I really just miss my girlfriend? Have I not been surfing enough? THATS IT! I HATE CARS (when they don't work)

So my truck died today. So stoked! Maybe I need a new chopper. We are right next to a chopper shop. The new trend that will never happen in North County is surfing bikers. But there is at least one- His name is Juice. Sick of the expense and troubles associated with transportation of the four wheeled variety, Juice had his beach cruiser converted into a pseudo chopper. Here he is performing daily maintenance checks required to keep him on the road and semi-safe, cause totally safe wouldn't be any fun.


Built for speed (low) and danger (high) this is his main transpo. The Good 'Ol Boys at Moreland Choppers assembled the Beach Assault Vehicle for a small fee, which surely delighted the young Juice. Lookout for him on the highway, he could use the help.

Taco Tuesday

...needs a home.
Since today is the premier for Thomas Campbell's new film The Present, we thought we would share this fine 9'9" by Michel Junod, The Pignar Biscuit Supreme.

This piggy has been used but not abused. Ridden very small kine by Mr. T. Moe himself as it was his personal slide. Muy minor deck dents is all you get.

We scored the LAST THREE TICKETS for THE FIRST SHOWING of the fancy film. NOW we're cool...

Illegal Parking

Apparently we were visited by the Bonzer Aliens between last night and this morning. As a peace offering I'm sure, they left this Campbell Bros. 5'10" Octafish in our parking lot. And being from a different planet, they obviously don't know about handicapped parking. We did our part by bringing it inside and putting it up for sale....

K-58 Surf Designs

James Mangano of K-58 Surfboards and BMC
fame came by today to pick up some freshly
grooved foam.
James surfs Black's every morning and shapes for
some of the guys out there. He was Jim
Swarthows (the machine) first customer, and
has been getting boards cut here for amost a
year now.





























He also does crazy art on most of his boards,
his car, and various other bland objects. His
website should be up and running in two
weeks or so. (K58surfdesigns.com) He will
have some new modelsup too. James does
his own glassing, but if
he didn't shape it, watch out for the surf
industry phenomena known as "The
Backburner". AKA Next Week...
