What you up to, city?

Don't let those grey skies and orange cones get you down, it's still summertime and Mitch's Surf Shop is still open for biznazz! The City of Solana Beach has begun the "Highway 101 Westside Improvement Project" to spruce up the city's section of the Highway 101 corridor, which means lots of jack-hammering and dust now, but a sweet city sidewalk later. Eighteen months later, to be exact. So get your stereo stocked with happy tunes and plan for a few extra minutes of meandering in your vehicle of choice to and from Mitch's.

In other news, our very own Sir Billy Watson took over the city last Thursday night, playing some wild jazz at Fletcher Cove as the sun set. Hoards of North County-ans flocked to the FREE show, compliments of Belly Up and The City of Solana Beach's Concerts at the Cove. A great time was had by all, and Watson even pulled out the eyeball maracas. If you don't know what I'm talkin' about, go see a Billy Watson show.
Happy sliding, folks!
